Christmas closure

Christmas tree

Multi-Cultural Family Base will be closed from Monday 25th December 2017 until Monday 8th January 2018. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and Happy New Year and leave you with a picture from a Christmas craft activity with our Chinese famlies.

A Fond Farewell

It is really hard to say farewell to one longstanding and highly valued member of staff, but to do so for three people feels an impossibility. Boon, Janice and Lorraine have contributed so much to MCFB and each has made her own unique contribution to its successful development over a great many years. I'm told that,  added together, their years of work with MCFB comes to 35!

Footprints from MCFB to Citadel

We are excited to announce a new partnership project with the Citadel Youth Centre designed to encourage more BME children to take part in youth groups held at the Leith based centre. The work is a continuation of MCFB's new 'Footprints' inclusion project that seeks to address the issue of inclusion of disadvantaged Black and Minority Ethnic children in mainstream youth provision.

4-2-7 Awarded National Lottery Funding

Children between the ages of 4 and 7 from mostly Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) families are set to benefit from an award of £204,660 over three years made to the 4-2-7 project at MCFB.

Bright Choices wins ‘Head above the Parapet’ Award.

Earlier this year 31 organisations, teams or individuals were shortlisted from 155 entries nationwide for the Scottish Social Services Awards 2017. Our Bright Choices partnership project with Sacro and Edinburgh and Lothian Regions Equality Council (ELREC) was one of only ten winners, each of these representing a different award category.
