MCFB has developed a strong reputation for providing high quality and diverse learning opportunities for social work students from academic institutions across Scotland. The emphasis is on the creation of a positive learning environment that enables students to become confident and skilled practitioners. We have a joint-funded post with Leith Children and Families Team. Opportunities are also available for placements within other BME voluntary sector agencies in Edinburgh. We are one of the few agencies that can provide in-depth opportunities for students to work cross-culturally with children and families. We specialise in equiping students with the skills and knowledge to communicate and work effectively with children. All students will have the experience of co-facilitating group work for children. Our team of practice teachers have jointly over 50 years experience of supervising social work students.
