Goodbye Rosie

Goodbye Rosie

This week, as we approach Christmas and the end of an eventful 20th year for MCFB, we are sad to be saying goodbye to 4corners project leader, Rosie Megginson, who is leaving to take up a new post at the Children's Hearings Scotland.

Rosie joined MCFB as a University of Edinburgh social work student on placement during 2012 and liked it so much that she joined the staff team as a 4-2-7 project worker in 2013. She later trained as a practice teacher and went on to take on the role of project leader of the 4 corners project in 2017 after the departure of the 4Corners project founder, Lorraine Grady. During her time as project leader, she further developed two school based groups in Craigmillar and Dalry and helped to form a new partnership project with Big Hearts (charitable wing of Hearts FC), which provides group work for vulnerable BME children in the west of the city.  Rosie’s excellent organizational skills meant that she was able to hold together all the different aspects of the project whilst providing strong leadership for the sessional staff and students who worked in the project.

We will miss Rosie’s calm and cheerful presence in the office and we wish her all the very best for the future. The two photographs show Rosie as a new project worker back in 2013 and then five years later!
