Banyan Project Comes to an End after 9 Successful Years

Banyan project design

It is considered to be a mark of success to no longer require a service, if that service has successfully met all of its aims and objectives.

Banyan was set up to address the often hidden issues which affect young people where domestic abuse or troubled relationships feature in the young people lives of those close to them. Unfortunately the need to offer support to young people experiencing the impact of these issues cannot claim to have been eliminated, however we recognise that the issues are less hidden. Our work with individuals and families across all of our work at MCFB reflects that these issues are widely recognised and are more commonly brought to our attention by families, referrers and young people themselves. Banyan has been a big part of opening these doors and starting those conversations. The work continues, as does Banyan’s influence, via the young people who continue to inform us about what is important to them and what they need from us. Watch this space to find out how we respond to those conversations in 2019.

The image shows a design the young people came up with for t-shirts to commemorate their time within the  Banyan Proejct.
