About Black Maternal Mental Health Week UK

Black Maternal Mental Health Week UK  is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the mental health challenges faced by Black mothers. Recognised nationally, this initiative aims to promote education, advocacy, and support for Black women during their pregnancy and postpartum journey. By shedding light on the unique mental health disparities experienced by this community, the week-long campaign strives to foster understanding and drive positive change in maternal healthcare practices.

We are so excited that the 1st of March is our 25th anniversary! MCFB has loved serving our community in the past, and we look forward to continuing to serve far into the future.

Hello,

My name is Ethelinda Lashley-Scott, and I am the new CEO of the Multi-Cultural Family Base.

I am thrilled to be here and excited about many of the things we’ll be working on in the near future. I am also very honoured to lead this fantastic organisation whose legacy of helping people from multicultural backgrounds has been sure and steadfast. This has been made possible by the many funders who have supported our initiative and projects over the years.

2022 Holiday Closures

We will be closing our offices from Friday 23 December 2022 and re-opening on Thursday 5 January 2023.
