The Early Years Service supports families, antenatally to 3 years. We work across the City of Edinburgh with Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic families.

'Life is enriched, I have more friends, I have more communication, I no longer feel lonely and my child has become happier'.

We are a small multi-disciplinary team with experience of Social Work, Art Psychotherapy, Infant Mental Health and Early Years Education.  We are also joined by Social Work/Art Therapy students on placement with the team. We work in partnership with parents, health and social care practitioners to provide sensitive and practical support at this early stage.

Our service aims at improving perinatal and infant mental health through short-term or intensive intervention to support parent-infant attachment through play, therapeutic relationship, and advocacy/practical support when needed. The work can take place at home or within one of our supported Early Years groups, one of which is delivered bilingually in both Mandarin and English.

You can view a film made about the work we do within the Early Years here.

Referrals can be made by telephoning the office and are welcomed from families, health visitors and other professionals.
