Student UnitPractice Learning at MCFBMCFB has developed a strong reputation for providing high quality and diverse learning opportunities for social work students from academic institutions across Scotland. We occasionally have students from abroad, including from Germany and the USA. The emphasis is on the creation of a positive learning environment that enables students to become confident and skilled practitioners. In 2006 and 2007 MCFB was a finalist in the Care Accolades under the category of developing innovative practice learning. Since then, the development of a joint-funded post with Leith Social Work Centre has afforded students the opportunity to undertake a broader range of work. Opportunities for placements within other voluntary sector agencies are available through the MCFB network. The Practice Learning Evaluation for 2007-2008 completed by students and tutors gives a consistently high rate of satisfaction with the placement, both in terms of the quality of supervision and also for the range of learning opportunities available. |
